Partners in Reading

The goal of the Summer Reading Program is to get children to read during the summer. We encourage children to read and award prizes to the top readers.

Our summer reading program is funded by the United Fund. We also developed a community group of partners committed to our goal for the summer reading program. This group is called the Opp Public Library's Partners in Reading. These businesses and individuals from the community have volunteered time, money, or products that we use to provide prizes and crafts for the children.

We would like to thank the businesses and individuals who helped this year as Partner' s in Reading including Southern Independent Bank (for our cash prizes), H T Hackney, WAMI, ALFA Insurance, Larry's Prescriptions, Youngs Florist, Burger King, Dr. Stanfield, MD, Dr. Worley, DDS, Doc's Country Store, SEAGas District, Tim and Eugenia Loggins, and Farmer's IGA.We also would like to thank the many other individuals who purchased book bags that we sold this year and are considered Friends of the Library.

Without these individuals and businesses, we would not be able to provide this program to our area children for FREE.
