Next month, the scarecrows will be back in Frank Jackson State Park. Which means, it's time for the Scarecrow 5K Trail Run/Walk! The Run/Walk will be Saturday, October 18, and pre-registration is going on right now.
Hosted by the Opp Rotary Club, the Scarecrow 5K will start at the boat landing and wind its way through the scenic paths surrounding Lake Frank Jackson. There will be categories for males and females started at ages 9 and under, then a category for every five years, as well as a category for 65 and over. All proceeds will go to help the Opp Rotary Club with their community projects.
Pre-registration is $25 (for registration and t-shirt) and lasts until October 10. Registration on the day of the race will start at 7:00 a.m. and is also $25 for registration and a t-shirt). The Run/Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. There will also be a Fun Run for Children (up to age 12) at the end of the race.
