Meet the Author


Michelle Whitehurst Goosby, mother, grandmother, author, educator, vocalist, public speaker, and newspaper columnist, is a native of Enterprise, Alabama. She is the proud mother of Gregory Dwight and Jacqueline Michelle and grandmother of Rosemary Michelle and Aiden Isaiah. She is the daughter of Samuel and Martha Whitehurst of Enterprise, AL. As an active member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church she sings in the Mass Choir, chairs the Lay Women's Ministry, and readily presents welcomes, occasions, and creative whatnots as requested. Her educational background includes a Master of Science Degree in Foundations of Education, mathematics concentration and she also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pure Mathematics double minoring in Physical Science and Biology hailing from Troy University Dothan. Ms. Goosby has been employed as a Mathematics Instructor at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, Macarthur Campus, for eighteen years. Years of teaching have allowed her the privilege of serving a diverse group, which ultimately led to the creation of her philosophy as an educator. “Keeping Eyes Focused On Student Need Is a Constant Effort.” “Fulfilling Student Need Is an Ever-Changing Mission.”

Michelle's book is titled It Aint Over Till the Math Lady Sings is her collection of math applications in verse, mathematical enigmas and teasers, expository math poetry, and a rhythmic math rap.

She will have books available to purchase. Hardbacks will be $20 and paperbacks will be $15. Come by on Friday, May 1, 2015 and meet this wonderful lady!
