New eBook Launch!

Opp Public Library introduces eBooks, mobile checkout, and virtual library cards as part of new library app launch

As of April 29, 2021, Opp Library began offering virtual library cards, mobile checkout and interactive receipts to all library users through the cloudLibrary app.

With cloudLibrary, a patrons library card is just a touch away, eliminating the frustration of a forgotten or misplaced card. The virtual card can be used for any library transaction that traditionally required a physical card. In addition, users can add multiple cards and switch between accounts with ease.

cloudLibrary users can favorite, mark as read, and sort and filter a digital record of their library borrow history. This helps Opp Public Library users manage the items theyve borrowed and remember which books theyve already enjoyed on the app. The app features thousands of eBook titles from libraries all over the state of Alabama, so you’re sure to find something you love. It includes a wide variety of titles for everyone, including Adults, Teens, and Children.

We are so excited about this service and the increased convenience it provides for our patrons both in and outside of our librarys walls, says Courtney Smart, Director at Opp Library.

The new service is offered at no cost to all Opp Public Library patrons, requiring only a valid library card. Bibliothecas cloudLibrary app is available for free through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or by visiting www.yourcloudlibrary.com. Users will then need to follow the prompts and simply login using their library card number.

Remember a library card is free to anyone who lives or owns property in Covington County, so if you don’t already have a card- come by & they will get you set up with one. All you need is your Alabama ID with your current address. If your current address is not on the ID, just bring a piece of mail with your name and address on it.

Stay in touch via social media, or speak with one of our friendly staff for more details or if you need assistance with cloudLibrary.
